I have a very limited number of books containing maps, plans and images to support my book Wellington's Engineers. They are A4 hardback with sixty full colour pages. No more than twenty will be produced and probably it will be much less. Each will be signed by me with the book number.
Cost will be £35 including shipping to the UK. For other destinations, please contact me for shipping costs. If you are interested please contact me thrugh the 'Contacts page' I will post some images in the next few days. There will be an article in the next edition of the Royal Engineers Journal on the British Use of Telegraphs in the Peninsular War. It builds on previous work I have done on this subject.
There is still more research to do but this article describes a little known aspect of the Peninsular War. The Society for Army Historical research accepts nominations each year for the award of the Templar Medal for the best new book. They have also recently introduced a new category; Best First Book and Wellington's Engineers has been nominated. There are two other entries in this category. It is a great honour just to be nominated. The Award ceremony is on 28 April 2016 at the Tower of London. I will be there.
Yesterday, I spent the morning at Catterick camp doing a briefing for the Sappers who are going out to Spain and Portugal on a battlefield tour later this year. Thanks also to the regiment for your hospitality.
14 April 2016. Wellington's Engineers makes number one on the Peninsular War book list. It did not stay there long, but I will take it :-) Thanks to anyone who has bought the book.
